PACKETVIDEO'S CORE MULTIMEDIA PLAYER FOR AUDIO AND MUSIC POWERS 10 NTT DOCOMO MODELS
PacketVideo Continues Multimedia Leadership in Japanese Market
TOKYO (May 19, 2008)—PacketVideo Corporation (PV) has been selected by NTT DOCOMO, INC. (DOCOMO) to power video and music functionality on 10 new advanced handsets with PV’s universal player software, also known as CORE™ multimedia client framework.
All 10 handsets – including docomo STYLE seriesTM F-08A, P-08A, P-10A, SH-05A; DOCOMO PRIME seriesTM F-09A, P-07A, SH-06A; DOCOMO SMART seriesTM P-09A; and DOCOMO PRO seriesTM SH-07A and SH-06A NERV – will be available in the Japanese market this summer.
CORE supports a broad array of video and music media services and file formats enabling FOMA™ handset users to seamlessly enjoy 3GPP (MP4), i-motionTM (MMP4), and Windows Media content. All 10 handsets also support Microsoft’s Media Transfer Protocol (MTP), an accepted industry standard for PC-to-phone transfer using Windows Media Audio (WMA) and Windows Media Digital Rights Management 10 (WMDRM10). These capabilities enable portable devices to play music files using popular services such as Napster., CORE also supports Windows Media Video (WMV) for HTTP streaming services, enabling subscribers to watch video content on the network with full-browser support at speeds up to 30 frames per second.
