PACKETVIDEO DEMONSTRATES TWONKYMEDIA™ SERVER SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS 7 FOR FIRST TIME AT CES

Demonstrations Show How Media Can be Streamed Seamlessly to More Connected Devices Throughout the Home Using Windows 7 and TwonkyMedia server in Tandem

LAS VEGAS (January 8, 2009)—PacketVideo (PV) announced today at CES that it will demonstrate how its TwonkyMedia server software will support the highly anticipated Windows 7 operating system to enable the seamless sharing of media content among a variety of connected devices throughout the home.

The demonstrations will show how TwonkyMedia server enables Windows 7 users to enjoy more media files and sync with a wider range of devices – including PCs, gaming consoles, DLNA- and UPnP-compliant hardware – without negatively influencing CPU performance.

Attendees will also learn how TwonkyMedia server supports Windows 7 Network Media Device (NMD) specifications to provide increased flexibility in connecting with a broader range of consumer electronic devices, making the media server software an ideal solution for both end users and device vendors. Specifically, TwonkyMedia server improves ease of use while providing seamless integration with Windows 7 Media Player, Control Point and Media Server.

PV will demonstrate TwonkyMedia manager in North Hall room N207 during regular CES show hours.

“PV has a vision to break down barriers and make the connected digital home an immediate reality,” said Angela Scheller, Ph.D., vice president of PV’s DLNA Product Group. “We are working with Microsoft to leverage the innovation in Windows 7 to enable a world where consumers can enjoy their photo, video and music files on connected devices throughout the home without limitation or hassle. Not only does TwonkyMedia server support Windows 7 NMD specifications, but it is also a best-in-class solution that has been adopted by dozens of leading consumer electronics manufacturers, setting the industry standard for connected home software.”

TwonkyMedia server is shipping preinstalled on a wide range of home networking devices offered by a variety of leading consumer electronic manufacturers. It is also available as a downloadable PC application at www.TwonkyMedia.com.

With TwonkyMedia server, users benefit from user-friendly menu options, customizable navigation settings, and advanced content search and discovery capabilities. TwonkyMedia server also supports multiple languages and the widest range of music, video and photo file formats in the industry.

“We are pleased to work with PacketVideo and TwonkyMedia server as we develop Windows 7,” said Scott Manchester, Director of Media Sharing Technologies for Windows at Microsoft Corp. “Microsoft is dedicated to making the connected digital home a reality for mainstream consumers, and innovations from PV illustrated at CES show how we’re working collaboratively to bring our shared vision to life with Windows 7.”
