THE DIGITAL HOME EVOLVES: PACKETVIDEO SHOWCASES LATEST ADDITIONS TO AWARD-WINNING TWONKYMEDIA PRODUCT FAMILY AT CES

Newest TwonkyMedia Product Enhancements Take the Home Media Sharing Experience to an Entirely New Level; Gadgets and a Couch Required

LAS VEGAS AND SAN DIEGO – Jan. 07, 2010 PacketVideo (PV) announced today that new versions of its market-leading TwonkyMedia™ family of connected home solutions are now available and will be on display at CES in North Hall room N213. TwonkyMedia solutions break down digital walls and enable seamless media sharing on connected devices throughout the home network. From Samsung TVs to H-P MediaSmart devices to Denon receivers, TwonkyMedia products place the user in control with functionality that is easy and intuitive, while creating a medium that encourages and enhances shared experiences.

TwonkyMedia manager v1.3; The Best Solution for Home Media Sharing Gets Better

PV's TwonkyMedia manager makes finding media and playing it back on compatible home devices as simple as drag and drop. Available today at www.twonkymedia.com, TwonkyMedia manager v1.3 is compatible with more than twice the number of consumer electronics devices than previous versions, including popular networked televisions, gaming systems, A/V receivers, digital photo frames and more.

The latest version provides users with faster scan times, increased responsiveness, better management of large media libraries and deceased CPU power usage compared to its predecessor. Users also benefit from faster installation and start-up times, and more icons displaying many of today's most popular devices, from HP Netbooks to the Apple® iPhone®. In addition, new keyboard shortcuts have been added to increase efficiency, along with significant upgrades to the user interface, settings options, search capabilities, and interactive chat and media sharing features.

TwonkyMedia manager v1.3 also provides increased support for sharing media feeds from many of today's most popular online destinations including Facebook photos, an expanded list of SHOUTcast radio stations, faster rendering of Flickr photos, and new Handpicked Video Feeds – a collection of video destinations that are sure to create a "wow" factor when streamed to flat screen TVs and digital photo frames. Similar to its predecessor, TwonkyMedia manager v1.3 continues to provide support for Photobucket, Picasa™ Web and more.

TwonkyBeam Gets Official with v1.0 Launch; Makes Sharing Online Media Content a Snap

With TwonkyBeam, streaming media from popular Web sites to connected devices throughout the home is only a click away. Launching today at www.twonkymedia.com/beam, TwonkyBeam v1.0 officially comes out of beta with new features such as Playlist support for photo slideshows and video channels, new support for FLAC music files and easier product updates conducted "on the fly" with minimal user intervention.

The easy to use browser plug-in works with Internet Explorer® and provides a slick display panel that expands to show users all of the available media on a Web page. Users simply click on the media they'd like to stream, select a media player, and hit play. Within seconds, users can enjoy high-quality audio on their stereo, or view photos or video on their networked TV.

TwonkyBeam v1.0 automatically locates high-resolution images instead of thumbnails on many popular sites, providing users with the highest definition streaming experience possible. Additional productivity-related updates and device-related improvements have been incorporated into v1.0, including new artwork making it easy for users to identify some of the most popular CE devices on the home network.

TwonkyMedia server for CE OEMs Gets Faster and More Powerful with v5.1 Launch

PV's market-leading TwonkyMedia server solution for consumer electronics manufacturers also receives an upgrade with the version 5.1 launch. Selected as the connected home software of choice for more leading OEMs than the competition, the newest version touts enhanced performance and usability including faster media transcoding, updated navigation tree configuration and a more efficient SQLite database enabling improved browsing capabilities.

TwonkyMedia server v5.1 also provides new support for removable media such as USB storage devices and network drives, and provides increased support for a number of popular CE products including Sony Bravia televisions.

"With the latest additions to the TwonkyMedia family of products, we focused on expanding and improving on the best solutions for home media sharing and making them even better," said Rick Schwartz, senior product manager, PV. "It's now easier than ever for users to immerse themselves in an all-inclusive, shared media experience in today's connected home, whether that media sits on a home network, or is embedded on a Web site. We're liberating media so users can enjoy their collections on the best possible devices in order to create the best possible experience."

TwonkyMedia products are Windows® 7 compliant and available for download at www.twonkymedia.com. TwonkyMedia manager is available today for $39.95, including installation for up to three different PCs. A 30-day free trial is available to new users and a low-cost upgrade is available for all current TwonkyMedia™ server owners. TwonkyBeam is available as a free download.
